7005 Time Trial frame going to Indiana

I don't get many chances to build time trial frames so I was excited when this order came in. It is mostly NOS Easton Elite and Ultralite 7005 tubes - some I have had in stock for 15 years. I hope this one feels as fast as it looks. It differs from the 'Bro_tour' model in that it has a lever top tube and an areo seat tube with a very slight cutout for the rear wheel-this one can fit 700x32 tires. 

 

Steel gravel bike fully built

 Every once in awhile a local customer comes by with a completed build. Since the bulk of my customers are out of the area, this is a great chance for me to take a few photos of the finished build right in front of my shop. You can see the gold accent on some of the parts and the Jen Green headbadge . It's a nice build and according to the owner , a good riding bike- that made me very happy hearing that.

A new model is taking shape

This is the 'Bro-Tour' 7005 aluminum road frame. This is the fourth one I have built and the most evolved. I have initiated a couple of new features in the seat stays - very small features but purposeful nonetheless. First is a small plate gusset at the seat tube junction for durability. Second is the slight bend in the seat stay for added tire clearance. The Bro-tour is pretty much the disc brake version for the S.L. and shares its shaped tubing and light weight. This frame is pretty large and is still only 3 lb. 9 oz. I would like to build one for myself but at just under 70 years old , I think it might be a bit silly. The owner of this one is 34 so he can still really pull it off riding something like this . I hope he likes it - there's a bit of thought and some refinement on this one , more so than the other three that I built earlier. Is it better ? Time will tell.....
 

7005 gravel frame for Portland, Oregon.

 I came in today to finish this one. It only needed bottle mounts and the seat slot cut so it didn't take up much of my Saturday. This one weighs 3 lb. 5 oz. and is going to a woman who really does a lot of work with youth cycling in the Portland area . She's got two kids of her own but still finds time to ride and manage a lot of the high school and middle school cycling-or, at least that's what she was doing last time I checked. 

The frame will be mated to a Shimano GRX mechanical 12 speed group and an Enve 50 mm rake G series forks. I'll probably build the wheels as I have some decent hubs in stock.

WCCX frame going to Daly City, Calif.

This is a replacement for a frame and fork that fell prey to an automobile. Fortunately the owner survived and let me know that I needed to make a duplicate . This one has a Jen Green sterling head badge and is made for Shimano Di II. The Enve G series fork has been painted in the team style. 
 

Satin finish gravel frame with painted parts

This one went to So-Cal to a long time customer. He asked to have the seat post and handlebar painted. Normally I don't care for that idea but in this case I think it works really well- this is a show-quality aesthetic on this one and I had nothing to do with the color choice other than the decals. Some times customers come up with truly winning paint finish ideas. 

 

In the wild

I built this frame and fork last year . The owner is a very avid rider and lives on the other side of the Santa Cruz mountains. Every once in awhile he rides over and pays a visit. He bought this frame to replace a production frame of the same style.  He gave this one the thumbs up- I'm happy about that. It means something when someone who has been riding as much as this guy for as many years as he has to say that what I built is making him happy.
