WCCX frame for a local

This is the last in the current batch and probably the last aluminum frame I will build in this year of 2022. I ran out of flat mounts and my supplier has none so I had to get some 7005 plate and make one myself.
The operation took a lot more time than I anticipated but I was able to make it look very much like the ones I order from Mike Ahrens. His are definitely a bit more attractive but this one will hold the caliper in proper alignment and that's really all that is needed .
This frame has a PF-30 BB so that an EBB can be used for single speeding.

Steel gravel frame going to Knoxville, TN.

This one is paired to a Whiskey CXLR fork that has bottle and rack fittings. I was also lucky to procure a gold King headset. I have been waiting the better part of a year to get some of these tapered beauties.

Steel gravel frames going to San Diego, Calif.

These two are going to a couple that live where it doesn't rain. That will change soon as they are relocating to the Seattle area. They will get the mud and rain there in good quantities. These frames should be good for those conditions.

Small WCCX frame going to Chicago

The is the last frame of the last aluminum batch of 2022. Took awhile to get here but I think that all the CX frames I was going to build this year are done for the most part. I still have plans to build maybe 10 more steel frames before I close for December. It won't be a real vacation but more a sorting out and a chance to re-tool a bit. Some of the cutters in my shop just aren't really cutting it any more.....
The cutters worked to build this one, though. Started yesterday, finished today. Always a nice way to end a week.

7005 road frame going east

This is a rim brake road frame for mechanical shifting.......remember these ? I still ride one. Last Sunday I was thinking as I was nearing the end of the four hour ride that electronic shifting would be nice for my arthritic tired hands. The next day I rode and didn't think about it at all. Today I rode and didn't think about it- I guess I only think about electronic shifting when I'm tired .
The tubing is all Dedacciai 7005 series and the frame is 3 lb. 6 oz. - a little more than a lb. less than something this size in steel. The feel of the ride is a bit different as the tube wall is thicker and the tubes are larger diameter than the steel tubes I use. It should feel nice for out of the saddle climbing.

Steel gravel frame for Bay area rider

This one is pretty much the normal style I build with the addition of rack mounts on the rear stays.
This one weighs in at 4 lb. 9 oz. and is made for someone with a fairly long torso so the top tube is about 570 mm.

Steel frame for a local

This one really looks amazing in the sun but today was cloudy so this is all you get for photos.
The frame is going to an employee of a local shop with a good rep so I'm happy about that- always goot to get industry people on your bikes.
