All I need for this one are the thru-axles and I'll be able to box it up and get it on its way north. This one is pretty light and should be a good race rig for the mud and snow that it is likely to see.
This color is becoming very popular. This 7005 CX frame is going to a shop in San Fransisco - I think it is the first frame they have ordered from me. I'm glad it will be in their hands before CX season really gets going. This and a bunch of other frames in other posts will be leaving the shop as soon as I can get shipping boxes. It's harvest time at Rock Lobster cycles.
This one is going to the middle of the country. Maybe it will get races in Tulsa Tough or Jingle cross...two races I have wanted to go to but have yet to experience. There's a CX scene in Iowa.....this is true.
this frame is tall enough that it needed a head tube longer than the usual tapered version I use. This one is 44 mm ID and will take a King Inset-7 headset.
This one is going to the son of someone who I used to ride with every Sunday for years. I'm getting old enough now that I am building frames for the adult children of my earlier customers. The father got his own road frame from me in 1989.
This one will get built with an Ultegra/GRX mix so that the customer can have mechanical shifting .
Yes, this one is going to Colorado as well, just a different area. I'm just waiting for my forks to show up from Enve , then this ad a few others will get boxed up and off to their new owners.
This is not the same one in the earlier post but this is how the other one will look, maybe with some different color decals to make it easier to tell the bikes apart in a hurry.
Going along with the last post, this frame was made about the time the Boulder dad was racing. I think it is a 1994 team issue TIG SL custom order. I did a run of about 27 of these and most of them were stock sizes- this one was not. It also had beefier tubing for the large rider who told me: "Build it strong" . I get the feeling that he had broken a few bikes in his day. He never broke this one.
It came in for a new der. hanger and a seatpost binder repair. I was able to do both pretty quickly once I got around to doing it. Getting around to doing it was not quick, however. Still, it will be re-painted and Hopefully back to the customer in time for the CX season.
