Steel all-road gravel-go most places frame off to Bellingham, Wa.
British racing green is truly one of the classic colors and this frame has the fork painted to match. The bike will be set up with newer Shimano Di II. My aluminum list is nearly empty but my steel list is filled with frames similar to this one- very popular this year. The head tube is 44 mm ID for a King Inset-7 headset.
WCCX SS going to NYC
This one will be hitting the east coast CX races this fall. The rider has the geared version and decided to have his 'B' bike a single speed that could also be run with wireless for gears. He didn't want his fork painted and the frame is pure race. I hope that he likes it and has lots of great racing with it.

WCCX frame for team mate in Fairfax, Calif.
This one is the dual purpose EBB version that can be used for single speed as well as geared. This might be the final frame in the summer batch which now numbers 9 frames. The bike will be set up with Di II wireless but I did put the larger port in the BB shell if an older set with the junction box will be used- I call this "past-proofing" ........I don't think that too many people think of this but I might as well make the frame as versatile as I can .
The sight bend in the seat stays is to make room for the brake caliper and to aid in the bleed process by creating more room where the bleed port is. Another thing that most people might not think about. It is kind of amazing how complicated bicycles have gotten since I started building frames in 1978.

Something really different -
When someone comes to me with an idea well out of my comfort zone I usually say no to taking it on. This project , however was so totally off the wall that I thought that it would be a shame if I just dismissed it. The project is for an old friend who has a very eclectic collection of mountain bikes- think Slingshot and Ibis -and of course a couple that I built as well. I really don't know why he wanted to graft an old Nishiki Alien rear triangle onto a more modern front triangle but with the directions he gave me, it sounded doable. This did not keep me from ignoring the project for a couple of years but a month or two ago I decided that it was time- I built the front triangle along with all the anchor points for the rear steel Nishiki portion of the frame. The rear wheel will be 26" - the front 27.5. The head angle is around 68 degrees so it won't really steer like the original Nishiki but I'll bet that it is a lot more stable at speed. The graphics and paint were done by Joe's bicycle painting and specified by the owner. There's a bit of humor contained in the logos and in the whole notion of something like this being built. I have built sillier stuff than this but I'll save those stories for another time- this story is more than enough for today.
Steel gravel frame for Sacramento, Calif.
This one has a long head tube to get the bars up for this rider. He has limited flexibility so hopefully this geometry and position will allow him to ride with more comfort. The frame is paired to an Enve G-series fork painted to match.
Steel all-road frame going to Austin, Tx.
Nice olive color on this frame and fork. It will be set up with Sram wireless and have a 2X drive train.

7005 Bro-Tour road frame for Philadelphia
This is the 4th Bro-Tour frame I have built and this one is going to a former Santa Cruz resident who has relocated to Philadelphia. He used to be a part of the Tuesday ride locally that has had a bit part in shaping my road frames. My hope is that this one checks all the boxes for the owner- speed, stability and style- nice fade done by Joe's Bicycle painting in Watsonville, Calif. He also does carbon repairs as well.
The frame is paired with an Enve tapered disc road fork but not the in-route version. Looks like this week I'll be building an in-route frame much the same as this one but with a 44 MM ID head tube to accomodate the in-route King headset. New stuff.....can't stand in the way of innovation but I hope I'm not the person who has to thread the brake lines...........

Classic SSCX in 7005
I used to build many like this about 15 years ago-I even had one myself and raced it a few times. I really liked how light, silent and simple it was. This person must feel the same way, going for rim brakes, 1-1/8" steerer fork and no bottle mounts. This one is as they were back when the single speed CX worlds were at Golden Gate park in San Fransisco-still one of my favorite races of all time.

Carter boost 27.5 MTB frame going to Colorado
This is maybe the first one of these that I have built this year. It features the new Tange Wishbone tubes of my design from Tange through the Merry Sales company in San Bruno, Calif. I hope to use many more of these for the steel MTB frames I build in upcoming months.

Another thing setting this frame apart is the flat clear coat. This is a finish not found on many of my frames but it works well on this one. Might be a bit tough to keep in clean but all of my bikes are dirty so I'm not one to talk. The front is capped off with a genuine copper Jen Green headbadge.

7005 CX going to Australia
This customer has a similar frame that he got maybe 5-6 years ago. This updated version has the newer rear stay gussett and is set up for wireless shifting. The geometry is full race CX- short and snappy. I hope that he really likes it. He has ridden the heck out of the first one so I know that this one will see a lot of use. This is # 4 in a batch that will probably be 8-10 frames. This is also the last pre-season CX 7005 run so if you have a frame on order and want it for the race season, better get me your fit info ! After this batch I'll be done with aluminum until 2026.

WCCX frame for junior on the team
The juniors on the team and ones who have gone on to other teams have been inspiring with how they race and also how they represent in the sport. I feel lucky to have had so much talent through this team. Just today I learned that Enzo Berghout just won the national 15-16 road race -he's a kid on our team who has the best attitude and also happens to have a ton of talent.
This frame is for Matthew Werner and I hope that it serves him well. It's a solid 7005 race frame that can also take 700x40 tires for general dirt riding.
