A really old one comes back for some restortion

Yes- this one is quite old. I think I built in 1987  so that makes it nearly 40 years old. I built it for a friend who I had sponsored to race CX many years before. This frame pre-dates when I became full time at frame building. This one has unfiled fillets for the most part and also has a level top tube.I think it is on its 3rd or 4th owner now- been changed to have a rear disc brake and now it has been restored to have cantilever brakes ,much as it had when it was new. A few of these really early ones had rollercam brakes but we all decided that they were not as good as we had hoped for so they were no longer featured on my frames. The flat top of the seat tube was gone shortly after this one and the integrated binder went away soon after. There are braze-ons for a shoulder strap-back in the day one had to be able to get over fences with a bike so this feature was very common on higher-end frames.
